Aquest any, tot i que la carrera pels Oscars ha estat d’allò més estranya, el bon cinema s’ha alçat per sobre de tot. Disney no ha fet de les seves i no ens hem hagut d’empassar una milonga de superherois com a millor pel·lícula. Aquest any, no. Les grans macroproduccions han quedat enrere. O això esperem. El cinema ha guanyat en ritme i fotografia, amb guions que valen la pena. Aquest any, res d’efectes especials. A l’estiu tots pensàvem que en Christopher Nolan, el nen bonic de l’acadèmia sortiria amb més nominacions que la Meryl Streep al llarg de la seva carrera, però no. No la va veure ni Déu. I tots aquells que la vam veure no la vam entendre. Semblava que la petulància dels acadèmics podia jugar a favor seu, però tots s’han quedat a casa mirant Netflix. Ara bé, com que la petulància dels crítics segueix ben present, Mank s’ha endut 10 nominacions. Per suposat. Hi ha pel·lícules que estan fetes exclusivament per a la crítica. L’enhorabona David Fincher, ho has fet tot com s’havia de fer. Ah, i l’Aaron Sorkin, també, no ens oblidem dels 7 de Chicago. Academicisme pur.
Tot i així, aquí posem la mà al foc per les propostes més independents, com Nomadland o Judas and The Black Messiah, tot i que Sound of Metal va ser una de les propostes més sòlides de l’any. No ens atrevim a dir-ne una de favorita, ja que, a diferència d’altres anys, cap pel·lícula es titula així.
La carrera estarà molt renyida en tots els àmbits excepte, potser, la Millor edició de so, que se l’endurà la del baterista sord. Escrit queda.
