L’acadèmia tanca comptes amb Christopher Nolan i Oppenheimer s’endú set estatuetes. La segueixen Poor Things amb quatre i The Zone of interest amb dues. Les grans perdedores van ser Killers of the Flower Moon i Maestro, que no se’n van endur ni una.
En una gal·la amb poques sorpreses, un humor de procacitat nul·la, reivindicacions tan
abstractes com estèrils i la dosi justa d’absurditat i ridícul (és a dir, uns Oscars arquetípics),
Oppenheimer va coronar-se, primer, amb els premis de millor muntatge (Jennifer Lame),
millor banda sonora (Ludwig Göransson) i millor fotografia (Hoyte van Hoytema). Robert
Downey Jr. i Cillian Murphy, per millor actor de repartiment i millor actor principal,
respectivament, també van aconseguir les seves estatuetes, i la canonització total de
Christopher Nolan en la indústria va venir amb els Òscars de millor direcció i millor
pel·lícula.
Poor Things va guanyar tots els Òscars de producció: millor vestuari, millor maquillatge i millor disseny de producció. Entre els quals cal afegir-hi el d’Emma Stone per a millor actriu
principal. Per la seva banda, The zone of interest va guanyar com a millor pel·lícula internacional, i també es va endur l’estatueta a millor muntatge de so.
En els premis honorífics es van guardonar Angela Basset, Mel Brooks, Carol Littleton i
Michelle Satter.
